Job Description
Arcadis is seeking a Field Inspector, Civil for our Hanover, MD office.
This candidate will work closely with Owner/Client, and contractor's manager/superintendent, to coordinate daily roles and responsibilities. Candidate must possess ability to perform general observations and inspections in the field for mechanical and electrical equipment and installations for commercial or institutional projects.
Responsibilities include:
Participate in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) meetings
Identify deficiencies in the field versus contract documents, and document conditions in writing
Coordinate work sequences between the owner's staff and MEP contractors
Assist the owner and architect/engineer in resolving Requests for Interpretation (RFI)
Confirm and track time and material work performed by Civil Engineering contractors
Coordinate QA/QC activities with third-party testing and inspection firms
Witness testing and balancing, and review T&B reports
Witness installation and/or electrical connections to existing building management systems
Witness commissioning, and review Cx reports
Document daily construction activity
Prepare punch lists, and back check completed work
Skills:
Excellent technical, organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera or related scheduling programs
Proficient in the use of web-based project management software such as e-Builder, or similar programs
Required Qualifications
Minimum years of experience: 5 years
Education required: A degree in a related field; or a high school diploma and training as a foreman or superintendent of mechanical or electrical trades
Experience with oversight of Civil Engineering Construction
Additional training in construction and/or project management
Read and interpret contract documents including: drawings, specifications, shop drawings, product data, and other submittals with an emphasis on Civil Engineering
Read and interpret general documents, such as project reports, internal and external communications
Perform pro-actively to identify project needs/requirements and bring them to the owner's attention for resolution
Clearly articulate and communicate directions from the owner to the contractors
Organize and prioritize personal workload to support project requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Years of experience preferred: 8 years
Education preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction
Registrations/Certifications preferred: OSHA 30 hours

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
