Trust Tax Intern

Rockland Trust is currently seeking a Trust Tax Intern for the upcoming summer. The individual will be working closely with the Trust Tax Officer to provide assistance with various projects and tax compliance and consulting works. The candidate will also be involved with answering questions posed by clients or internal team. Excellent computer skills including experience in Microsoft Word and Excel are critical.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist with preparation of income tax returns
Help tax department develop a paperless and efficient process
Conduct tax research for client issues and newsletter communication
Correspond to tax authorities' notices
Required Skills:
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Working towards an accounting degree
Preferably has taken tax related courses
Experience with Profx Tax and OneSource is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
